Brut Nature Blanc de Blancs Millésime 2002
2002 was an extraordinary year in Champagne, characterised by generally warm temperatures, without excessively hot or cold weather. These exceptionally favourable conditions contributed to maturity and a lovely concentration of flavours, ideal for Chardonnays.
The golden liquid reveals a line of fine sparkling bubbles which continue to rise and lengthen. This is a wine of great purity, releasing white flower and citrus fruit aromas.
On the palate, the wine presents itself through a structure both rich and pure, showing exceptional finesse. The notes of chalky minerality which express themselves in this vintage are characteristic of the chardonnays from the prestigious Côte des Blancs. The finish is long, carrying through it hints of vanilla sticks.
This great Vintage 2002 makes use of the category of Brut Nature, which defines itself by the absence of sugar, to take on a superb fragrant freshness. Modern wine lovers will favour it at the beginning of a meal when the palate is at its most sensitive.
